A Day in Malacca

From a few days ago...
I am in Malacca, Malaysia and really loving it. Amazing mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian people. You can imagine how well I'm eating. This is not a typical day but today this is a little bit of what happened...
-washed some clothes in the shower with shampoo because i couldn't find detergent!
-walked up a hill to see a Chinese cemetery and struck up a conversation with two older Chinese men. These men then took us to see the oldest Chinese temple in Malaysia which was followed by drinking lots of beer (before we had even had lunch. Keep in mind these are like over 60 year olds and my friend hates beer). Then Indian food which was served on a banana leaf and we devoured with our hands.
-a power nap was much needed but first we chatted with an Australian couple staying in our guest house
-walked to the Strait of Malacca (pirates!) and was harassed by some Malay teenagers. Actually felt unsafe and it was quite horrible.
-Went to the mall to try on clothes that are cheap and fit us! I bought lots although I am unsure of what is cool or not cool. But I am defo cool in Asia.
-Walked around and accidentally ended up on top of a hill for one of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen. The sun is so much bigger near the equator.
-Went to the Chinese market, ate some Malay food, had a shower and am now hanging at a cafe that is about to start some live music. Possibly in Chinese.

And right now that is my life. I will go to bed in a huge 16 bed dorm room! No AC so good thing I'm used to this heat.

But even with all that I am excited to be home soon. And after being in Chinatowns in Malaysia I think China will be INSANE. I have no real words to describe what i think it'll be like.
