This is of a day trip to Nong Khai with Annie, Phil, Pinn and Kian. We drove up to Nong Khai for a change of scenery. We saw an amazing sculpture garden, ate delicious Vietnamese food and saw Lao. Frankly, I am sick of seeing Lao and not crossing the river so I am looking forward to actually experiencing the country soon!

Then we have my pictures of all my students. Great examples of the infamous Thai mullet which I think the Thais pull off nicely...others will disagree I'm sure. The uniforms are slightly different for each faculty and also for the ages. Since I have all freshman you will see that they all (should be) are wearing white shoes. That's how you know which students are freshman. Each year there is a little more leniency on the uniforms. Much different from most college uniforms of sweatpants and t-shirts.

The People
Joey-my housemate, married to Jordan, went to school at Indiana University, calls Chicago home, taught in Miami, was an organic farmer, also in the Princeton in Asia program and started teaching at KKU last October. An opera singer who likes to write, whistle, joke, and tell me about I have never even heard of before.
Jordan-my other housemate, married to Joey, went to school at Indiana University (literature major), from Valparaiso, Indiana, was in Teach For America in Miami, said to be a natural teacher, vegetarian, teaches English to little kids at a private school in KK. So easy and fun to talk to about anything at all.
Karl-our neighbor who also teaches English at KKU for undergraduate and graduate students. He has lived here six years or so I think. Family lives in California. Lives next door to us. Taught me how to ride the song taew.
Bow-my officemate at KKU. We share an office and she is the assistant to the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. She answers many of my random questions when she has time as she teaches over 25 hours a week including weekend. She graduated from KKU and has her Masters from a Bangkok school.
Pin-part time English teacher at KKU. She is very shy and did not want to speak in English to me when I came so she told Joey to tell me she does not speak English. Except she is not shy!
Annie-Another PiA fellow, from LA area but went to boarding school out east for high school and just graduated from Princeton. She majored in religion and has a passion for drama. She is living with Meredith and Liz. She workes in a different faculty and has met other foreigners in her office.
Meredith-Another PiA fellow from Philly area. Graduated from Princteon with an English major. I stayed with her at orientation. Living with Annie and Liz. A surfer, snowboarder, rower and probably other things I am forgetting.
Liz-A New Yorker and Princeton graduate. Teaching Business English but majored in Anthropology. Living with Annie and Meredith. A fellow vegetarian.
Phil-A PiAer who is coming in October after graduating from Northwestern University and traveling Europe and India while we are all teaching!
